Batik is a fascinating traditional hot wax resist process that originated from the far East and is used on fabric, paper & wood. The craft is now practised all over the world and involves painting or drawing with hot wax onto a medium and then brushing waterbased paint and dyes over the wax once it has cooled.
This technique is suitable for all ages and abilities and you do not need any previous experience of painting or drawing!
